Plot

Putt-Putt (voiced by Jason Ellefson) and his dog, Pep, go to Mr. Firebird's Fireworks Factory, but Pep inadvertently causes a freak accident with a fire cracker that launches both Putt-Putt and Pep into outer space. Putt-Putt lands on the moon and accidentally gets stuck in moon goo. Fortunately, a Moon Buggy named Rover rescues him and takes him to a rocket up for sale. After Putt-Putt purchases the rocket with 10 glowing moon crystals, helps Rover reach a steering wheel for the rocket, gets a key from Governor Moonbeam, acquires rocket fuel from Robbie Radar and obtains a nose cone from the Man in the Moon, Putt-Putt and Rover are able to use the rocket to get home and Putt-Putt introduces Rover to the Cartown citizens.

Gameplay

The game uses the same mechanics as its prequel including Putt-Putt's glove box inventory window, Car Horn, Radio and Accelerator.

Release

The 3DO version of the game was shown at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas around early January 1994.[2] Copies of the game came packaged with an activity book containing Math and English exercises plus a Putt-Putt pen.[3]

Reception

In April 1994 Computer Gaming World said that the game "offers a classic adventure experience for children (and adults)".[5]

The combined sales of Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon, Putt-Putt Joins the Parade and Putt Putt Saves the Zoo surpassed one million units by June 1997.[6]
