Just Dance 2023 Edition (also simply Just Dance 2023) is an upcoming dance rhythm game developed and published by Ubisoft. It was unveiled on September 10, 2022 during the Ubisoft Forward September 2022 web presentation as the fourteenth main installment of the series and the final annual installment, with all future content being added to the game through online updates.[1][2] It is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2022, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.[3] It is the third game in the series, after the initial title and Just Dance 2021, not to be announced at E3. It is also the first game since Just Dance 4 not to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Just Dance 2023 Edition was also initially set to be released for Stadia, however, Stadia was announced to be shutting down in January 2023, thus cancelling the Stadia version of the game.[4]

Gameplay

As with the previous installments of the franchise, players must mimic the on-screen dancer's choreography to a chosen song using either motion controllers (Nintendo Switch only) or the game's associated smartphone app.

The game's user interface received a significant redesign, which aims to emulate those seen on streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu or Disney+.[5] A new online multiplayer feature was added, where up to six players can join a private group.[6] The dancer cards are revamped, with pictures of the coaches instead of avatars, and stickers are added to show how the players feel after each song.[2]

Just Dance+

Just Dance+ is an upcoming Just Dance subscription service set to launch alongside Just Dance 2023 Edition. It will serve as a replacement for Just Dance Unlimited and it will be featuring old songs from past Just Dance games and new exclusive songs to the game.[13]

Future

In an interview with JB Hi-Fi in November 2022, Just Dance brand director Amelie Louvet confirmed that 2023 Edition would be the final annual installment in the main series, with all post-launch content, including new songs, game modes and features, being added to the game through online updates "throughout the months and years following launch".[14]
