Le jeu reprend le même gameplay que n'importe quel autre jeu de flipper et y insère des éléments tirés de l'univers Pokémon. D'abord, les monstres eux-mêmes sont capturables au cours de la partie ; ensuite, il est possible de faire évoluer les Pokémon grâce à une sorte de mini-jeu.

Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire[lower-alpha 1] is a 2003 pinball game developed by Jupiter, published by The Pokémon Company and distributed by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance handheld game console. It was first revealed at E3 2003. The North American release was done to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the North American release of Pokémon Red and Blue. It is based on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, and is a sequel to Pokémon Pinball for the Game Boy Color. In some ways, it plays like a traditional pinball game, where the objective is to get a high score by keeping the ball in play as long as possible and hitting bumpers. In keeping with the theme of Pokémon, it features Pokémon collection, where while the players play pinball, they must also capture the eponymous creatures.

Pokémon Pinball: Rubí y Zafiro (ポケモンピンボールルビー＆サファイア, Pokemon Pinbōru Rubī & Safaia) es un videojuego de pinball basado en Pokémon Rubí y Zafiro, desarrollado por Jupiter y distribuido por Nintendo para Game Boy Advance. Se trata de la secuela directa de Pokémon Pinball, y al igual que en su predecesor, una Pokéball hará la función de bola con la que capturar a los Pokémon que vayan apareciendo. La mayoría de los objetos que aparecen en cada tablero están relacionados con Pokémon.

Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire — компьютерная игра в жанре пинбола для портативной игровой системы Game Boy Advance, разработанная японской компанией Jupiter и изданная Nintendo. Является своеобразным продолжением Pokémon Pinball. Игру анонсировали на выставке E3 в 2003 году, в этом же году она вышла: 1 августа в Японии, 25 августа в Америке и 14 ноября в Европе. Североамериканский релиз Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire пришёлся на пятую годовщину выхода в Америке первых игр серии Pokémon Red и Blue. Во многом игровой процесс Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire повторяет традиционный геймплей игр своего жанра: цель — набрать как можно больше очков и не позволять шару закатываться за флипперы максимально долго, но при этом здесь присутствует возможность ловить покемонов и заполнять Покедекс, энциклопедию о покемонах. Конечная цель — получить данные обо всех 201 присутствующих в игре покемонах.
