Gabriel Knight : Énigme en Pays cathare (Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned en version originale) est le troisième volet de la trilogie de jeux d'aventure Gabriel Knight. Il a été publié en 1999 sur PC par Sierra On-Line.

Synopsis

Dans ce troisième opus de la trilogie de Gabriel Knight, l'intrigue se passe en France dans un petit village du Languedoc appelé Rennes-le-Château. Gabriel est à la recherche du fils de son employeur, un bébé enlevé par de mystérieux agresseurs, ce qui le conduit dans ce village du sud de la France. Se basant sur une intrigue réelle, l'histoire a notamment comme thèmes le Graal, le Trésor des Templiers, les Cathares, la franc-maçonnerie et l'Abbé Saunière.

Système de jeu

Cet épisode est le premier de la série à avoir recours à une animation 3D. Cela a pour conséquence que les décors et les personnages sont de nouveaux représentés à partir d'images de synthèse et non à partir de vidéo comme c'est le cas dans le deuxième épisode, Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within.

Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned is a point-and-click adventure game, developed and published by Sierra Studios for Microsoft Windows, and released in 1999. The sequel to 1995's The Beast Within: A Gabriel Knight Mystery and the third title in the Gabriel Knight series, the game's story focuses on the lives of Gabriel Knight, an author who is descended from a family that combats supernatural evils, and Grace Nakimura, a student who assists Gabriel, as they become engaged in a case that involves tracking down a kidnapped infant by vampires that is connected to the Holy Grail and Jesus. The setting is based on a real-life conspiracy theory about a hidden treasure, and involves elements of history and myths surrounding the Grail, vampires, and the Knights Templar.

Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned (Габриэль Найт 3: Кровь Святых, Кровь Проклятых) — третья и на сегодняшний день заключительная приключенческая игра из серии Gabriel Knight, выпущенная компанией Sierra Online. Как и две остальные части, игра была разработана геймдизайнером и писательницей Джейн Дженсен. В отличие от предыдущих частей сериала, на этот раз саундтрек был написан Девидом Генри, развившем оригинальные темы постоянного автора музыки к играм серии Роберта Холмса. Главного героя - частного сыщика и борца со сверхъестественным злом Габриэля Найта - вновь, как и в дебютной части сериала, озвучивает английский актёр Тим Карри. На роли остальных постоянных персонажей трилогии - Грейс и Детектива Мозли - были приглашены новые исполнители. Игра вышла в 1999 году и была переиздана в составе сборника игр от Sierra Best Seller Series в 2001.
