The game features numerous missions in various locations. Missions include bombing the enemy's bases, escorting Air Force One through dangerous jungle terrain, and rescuing prisoners of war. Every mission has a time limit.[3]
Development
Chopper Attack was among the games demonstrated at the November 1996 Shoshinkai show.[4] A two-player split screen mode was worked on,[5] but eliminated by the time the game was released.

The game received mixed reviews according to the review aggregation website GameRankings.[6] In Japan, however, Famitsu gave it a score of 30 out of 40.[10] Nintendo Power gave the game 6.6/10, stating "Play control is a bit awkward, but if you work with it a bit, you'll get into the game."[21]

- In Electronic Gaming Monthly's review of the game, one critic gave it 2.5/10, another gave it 6/10, and the rest gave it each a score of 5.5/10.
- Three critics of GameFan gave the import each a score of 80, 83, and 75.
- GamePro gave the game 2.5/5 for graphics, 2/5 for sound, and two 3/5 scores for control and overall fun factor.
